If you're considering therapy and want to see if we may be a good fit, I offer free consultations. During this video chat, I'll ask you to briefly describe what brings you to treatment, your goals, and your previous experience in treatment. I may also ask you some screening questions related to symptom severity to see if I'm a good fit or whether I should offer you a referral to a different type of provider. This is also a great time to ask me questions to see if you think I'd be a good therapist for you!
(First 2-3 Session)
For new clients, treatment always begins with an intake process. We'll discuss your personal history, current challenges, and treatment goals. I will have you complete some questionnaires to gather more information and better assess your symptoms.
I take what I learn during these meeting and develop an intake assessment and treatment plan that we will discuss together. This summarizes my understanding of your current situation, my clinical interpretation of factors contributing to your symptoms, and treatment recommendations. We will have a chance to discuss your questions and make changes as needed. This becomes our collaborative roadmap and we will revisit it throughout treatment.
Note: I do not conduct comprehensive assessments for neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD or ASD. If relevant, I may conduct screenings and make appropriate referrals for further assessment.
I offer individual therapy tailored specifically for people during and after pregnancy, focusing on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders including postpartum OCD. As a new parent myself, I understand some of the unique challenges and joys that come with expecting a baby and transitioning to parenthood. I use evidence-based approaches that first focus on reducing impairing symptoms you may be experiencing, and then working to enhancing mental well-being and finding your stride during this exciting yet sometimes overwhelming period.
I have a passion for working with young people to enhance their well-being and quality of life. I specialize in challenges related to anxiety, depression, and moderate behavioral difficulties. Teens and parents may seek my help when they notice issues with persistent low mood or motivation, episodes of overwhelming distress or anxiety, persistent worries, struggles completing daily tasks, avoidance of school or other important activities, increased conflict with family, concerns about substance use or other risky behaviors, and any number of other concerns that may be specific to their child.
In therapy with teens and families, we begin by opening lines of communication and aligning goals. My assessment of your situation and treatment plan will determine what balance of individual and family sessions best fits your needs. I focus my work with teen clients on helping to improve their most impairing symptoms and to develop skills they can take with them into the future.
